Nevin McDougall

Managing Partner

Nevin is an accomplished business executive, entrepreneur, and private investor with 30 years experience in industry-leading, innovative agri-business organizations. He has led business operations for large multi-national companies such as BASF and Sollio Cooperative Group in both North American and International markets. Nevin brings extensive hands-on experience in commercial operations, R&D, and executive management. He has also been involved as an investor, entrepreneur, and coach to several small and medium sized companies in the agri-food sector such as A&L Canada Laboratories Inc. Nevin brings broad perspective and governance capabilities from positions in industry associations, non-profit, public and private company boards.

 
 

Joe Dales

Founding Partner

Joe Dales has over 40+ years of agriculture industry experience working with leading companies such as Pfizer, Cyanamid Crop Protection(BASF), First Line Seeds(Monsanto), and NK Syngenta Seeds(Ciba Seeds).

In 1997, he co-founded www.AgCareers.com one of the first ag business websites on the internet. In 1998, he co-founded Farms.com Ltd. which has grown to become a leading supplier of innovative solutions to farmers, agriculture and food companies around the globe. In 2019, he co-founded RH Accelerator Inc. and leads their value-adding investments in the agriculture and food innovation and start-up sector. RHA has been rebranded RHA Ventures Inc., has made more than 35 investments and continues to support entrepreneurs with hands-on, experienced business coaching.

 
 


Brian Cram

Board Chair

Brian is a seasoned CEO and private investor with a history of success driving significant business growth and transformations across a variety of industries. He has extensive executive leadership experience in early and late-stage technology companies as well as multi-national consumer food and agri-businesses that include Cuddy International, Cold Springs Farm and Maple Leaf Consumer Foods.

Brian has provided investment advisory services, Board representation and interim executive leadership on behalf of several Canadian and US private equity groups and family offices. He has closed over $175M in M&A transactions as well as more than $125M in company capitalizations and recaps.

 
 


Brian Foster

Founding Partner

Brian is a technology investor, board member, strategic advisor and seasoned mentor. He has extensive experience with early-stage technology companies including two successful exits of his own. Brian has provided M&A advisory services with over $40M in successful transactions and advice on funding transactions in excess of $15M.

Previously, Brian was the Co-Founder and CEO of InnoSoft Canada Inc, one of the fastest growing companies in the North American recreation management software market. InnoSoft was acquired by Constellation Software in 2017 (TSE:CSU). Brian was also one of the Co-Founders of the KW Titans professional basketball team, playing in the National Basketball League of Canada.

 
 


David Billson

Founding Partner

Over his 25 years in the tech space, David has grown a comprehensive understanding of how technology can aid communication, performance and profitability. A software developer by trade, David has worked in all aspects of the software project lifecycle. He co-founded rTraction, a digital media company, bringing a focus on the marketing and communication aspects of technology development.

In addition to building his own successful marketing and technology agency, David has been a fractional CIO or CTO to many startups in the region. In 2018, David rolled his passion for technology startups into the RHA, advising RHA companies on software development, HR, and operational excellence.

 
 

Lynn Davis

A life-long Londoner, Lynn Davis is a community collaborator, and connector, who has been involved in the non-profit sector for more than 30 years, working with, advocating for, and donating to numerous organizations. As the President of Alegria 3 Inc., an Impact Investment company, Lynn has invested in numerous start-ups with local, national and international reach. She places a strong focus on investing in organizations with a social or environmental impact embedded into their business DNA. Lynn invested in London’s first ever Community Bond, in support of Innovation Works, a social innovation space located in downtown London, and the Verge Breakthrough Fund, the first investment initiative of its kind in Canada, which focuses on local investment for local impact. Most recently, Lynn has been involved in raising funds to build four accessible, affordable homes on Oneida Nation of the Thames through The Imagine Build.

 
 

Zamir Khan

Zamir is an entrepreneur and engineering leader with a passion for building and scaling software products. 

With degrees in computer and biomedical engineering, his career began in the field of medical devices: researching, building, and ultimately leading teams to deliver best-in-class software used by radiologists and surgeons around the world.

With a growing entrepreneurial curiosity, Zamir built software products for startups and, eventually, founded his own, VidHug, in 2018. This group video creator grew to help millions of people connect meaningfully on their special occasions. In 2021, VidHug (re-branded to Memento) was acquired by Sincere Corporation, where Zamir is VP of Video. 

Zamir is passionate about helping founders find the right combination of team, product, and technology for success.

 
 

Steve Bolton

Stephen is the former CEO at Libro Credit Union. An organization he supported from 1988 to 2023, with the last 11 years serving as President & CEO. During his tenure as CEO, he spearheaded the combination with United Communities Credit Union in 2013 which served as a catalyst for significant organizational reinvention as Libro embraced a bold new future as a social purpose, thought leader in southwestern Ontario based on a world-class theme. Embracing a Purpose mantra of growing prosperity and embracing bold changes Libro grew from $1.7 Billion in Assets under management to over $7 Billion by Dec 2022 with a Membership base increasing from 56,000 to over 114,000 under Stephen’s tenure as CEO.

Stephen has demonstrated he is a builder of business. He is a proven leader that has a passion for building high performing teams, culture, vision, and leading reinvention in a highly regulated sector.

 
 

Steve Groves

Steve brings over 25 years of success in developing innovative solutions for companies in the fitness industry, journalism, and the Canadian telecommunications sector.

Steve began his career soon after graduating university by co-founding ISMG, a digital marketing agency focused on building web-based solutions for companies in the financial, manufacturing, and education sectors. ISMG was ultimately sold to publicly traded Aloak Corp. in 2002. Steve joined Start.ca in March 2020 as the Vice President of Technology, after spending a decade as the Chief Information Officer at GoodLife Fitness.

At Start.ca, Steve is responsible for leading the strategy and operations of the Product Design, Engineering and Technology Delivery functions of the organization. Start.ca was sold to TELUS Communications in January of 2023.

 
 

John Pollock

John is a lifelong entrepreneur who enjoys coaching emerging businesses and

connecting them with the resources they require. Founder of BizInc at Western University and Fanshawe College, this student entrepreneurship service helped to launch more than 100 student businesses. Managed the Southwestern Ontario Angel Group through a period of membership renewal: grew membership by more than 130% , and the group achieved annual investment of more than $5 million. Currently an Executive in Residence at the Ivey Business School, an enthusiastic (but not so talented) woodworker, proud father of three ( grandfather of six). John works with the London Economic Development Corporation in support of local entrepreneurs and growth companies

 
 

David Brebner

David Brebner, CPA, CA, HBA, is a strategic “structuralist” and defines the development of the necessary foundations for organizations to succeed. David's ability to discern the structural solution to complex problems provides the catalyst and support structure to bolster any value creating strategy.

David is the Co-Founder, CFO of Mobials Inc., a scaling innovative software development company, as well as having multiple investments and sitting on multiple private companies boards in the FinTech, PropTech, Real Estate and Food & Beverage industries.

Selected as one of London, Canada's inaugural Top 20 under 40, David is active within its business and charitable communities. He is currently involved as a director of the TechAlliance of Southwestern Ontario and the treasurer of the operating and foundation boards and member of the executive committee of The Grand Theatre (London, Canada).

 
 

Michael Dales

Project Manager

Michael has been a Project Manager at RHA Ventures since it started, managing the new venture intake and working with the early stage companies.Michael completed his Honours Bachelor of Commerce Management Degree at Fanshawe College and is also a part time faculty member in the Fanshawe College Agri-Business Management Program where he teaches Precision Technologies in Agriculture and Relationship Management & Selling Fundamentals over the last 3 years. 

Michael is passionate about agriculture as he has a background in the agri industry producing video marketing with many of the top agricultural brands in North America. He has extensive experience completing video and social media projects for many small businesses in the London Ontario area. He enjoys helping early stage companies to be successful and learning about new technology in the agriculture and small business sectors.
